A new intersection was created in the course of the development of the new community the Falls at Parkland. This 55 and older community is being developed by Ryan Homes / Parkland Centerline. A condition of the community development was a requirement for the developer to extend Hillsboro Boulevard west from its previous end point. The intersection of Hillsboro Boulevard and Loxahatchee Road was eliminated and Hillsboro Boulevard now extends west along the south side of the Chabad, intersects Parkside Drive, and continues west into the Falls at Parkland. Approximately 1,200 feet west of Parkside Drive, Hillsboro Boulevard intersects a new road within the Falls at Parkland called Everglades Way. This intersection is a roundabout that, like the roundabout at University Drive and Old Club Road, had two conceptual designs that went to the public for a vote. The concept known as Rendering #2 was selected by the public and approved for development by the City Commission.
This roundabout will ultimately blend into the look and feel of the new community while accommodating traffic flow and providing the safest traffic control option for that location.
