Beginning October 1st, 2025, permit fees have been adjusted in accordance with Resolution No. 2025-054. 

New Permitting Software

The Central Square (Trakit) software is no longer available. Access My Government Online (MGO) here or select the image below.

All inspections and permit submittals will be via the MGO permitting software.

Contractors, you will need to reregister in order to continue scheduling inspections, submitting permits and having their permits issued by creating an account, registering in the MGO portal, and turning in new certificates of liability, worker's comp and contractor's license due to the permitting software change.

Mission

Our mission is to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of City residents and the business community through the enforcement of building codes and standards. To this end, we issue building permits based on approvals of plans for residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

The Building Department ensures that certified inspectors:
1. Perform the required inspections in structural, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical trades
2. Schedule and track inspections for the zoning, landscaping, engineering, and fire departments
3. Issue certificates of occupancy
This division also oversees the issuance of waste hauler registrations for the community.
